IT Technician


JOB SUMMARY


Responsible for providing technical assistance, support, and set-up related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to requests, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions. Supports staff in working with the different Systems, maintaining documentation, helpdesk support for Windows Desktops, Microsoft Software, IP Phones, and peripheral IT equipment. Also creates Windows and Exchange accounts and maintains the IT equipment inventory.


Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  1. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming requests and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware, either in person or over the phone.
  2. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software includes using imaging software to back up and restore desktop computer images.
  3. Clean up computers and run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  4. Install computer peripherals for users.
  5. Valid Wisconsin driver's license needed for local travel between sites.
  6. Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

This position requires a minimum of 1-year of experience working in a Windows environment or Certificates issued by an IT training facility, such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or an equivalent combination of education and training. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the information technology field. Must be able to interpret instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and work under immediate supervision.
